WIL SHRINER loves to make people laugh and, after years behind the camera, he has decided to return to the comedy stages where his career initially began.
His clean, clever and offbeat take on life continues to entertain audiences on television, in top venues from coast to coast, and on the radio in Miami. Wil has made over 50 TV appearances with David Letterman, Jay Leno, and Johnny Carson and even hosted his own Emmy nominated national talk show, The Wil Shriner Show in 1987.
He then went on to host dozens of other series throughout the nineties, while never giving up his love of stand up comedy sharing the stage with the likes of Joan Rivers, Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy, Kevin Nealon, Loretta Lynn, Tom Jones, Bobby Collins, Neil Sedaka, John Denver, Tony Bennett and Jay Leno.
Using his humor for the greater good as a Celebrity auctioneer, he has helped to raise over four million dollars for a wide variety of charities.
Wil has been fortunate to wear many hats (and a few sun dresses) in Show-business. His most noteworthy acting experience, was co-starring in the Oscar nominated film “Peggy Sue Got Married” directed by the great Francis Ford Coppola.
In 2000, Wil refocused his next goal and was soon directing top hit sitcoms including “Frasier,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Becker”, “Norm”, “the Gilmore Girls” and many others.
He returned to his home state of Florida to produce, write and direct the New Line feature film “Hoot” based on the Carl Hiaasen award winning book. The film was inducted into the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in NYC and was recently added to the Smithsonian’s collection of top five environmental films.
His love of flying, scuba diving, sailing, golf, antique cars and motorcycles prevents him for overworking and he hopes to one day spend some “quality time” with his “current” wife and kids. They are not too keen on the idea and hope that his comedy act keeps him on tour.
